Principle Frontend Developer for an enterprise-level rich Internet application called Workflow. The system is designed to allow users on campus to create electronic forms and route them to relevant people based upon both static and dynamic criteria. Major features include:
Led a team of three developers to implement all user interfaces using a variety of technologies including a PHP Model-View-Controller framework (CodeIgniter), advanced JavaScript (jQuery, Backbone.js, Marionette.js), and CSS. Implemented application interactions with the database using extensive RESTful web services and JSON.
Created prototypes of application features and concepts. Collaborated with other team members using the prototypes to address any technical concerns and to further refine application features.
Responsible for making the application user-friendly through User Centered Design & User Testing.

Oversaw all aspects of the business including client relations, project management, application development, quality assurance, research and development, finances, and marketing.
Project manager & lead web developer for numerous website design and web application development projects. Led client meetings to capture project scope and goals. Assigned responsibilities, deadlines and budgets to team members. Verified that all work performed meets industry standards and client expectations.
Principal developer of various web applications including SimPerks (https://simperks.com), a rewards system for small business & Clopsy (http://clopsy.com), an order tracking service developed for the optical industry. Both are oftware as a service (SaaS) and were built using a PHP Model-View-Controller (MVC) framework.
Created a custom content management system, Maestro, for use on client projects. Maestro focuses on user experience and is designed to allow users to easily update their website without any coding knowledge. It includes basic text and image editing, blogging, and e-commerce capabilities. The CMS was built using both frontend (jQuery, (X)HTML, and CSS) and backend (PHP, MySQL) technologies.
August 2005 – Present
Developed a business plan that outlined the business model, marketing strategy, and financial projections for a high-end optical retail store. The business plan was used to secure initial funding for the company.
Responsible for day-to-day and long-term financial management of company – including preparation and analysis of financial documents, establishing a company budget, and general accounting.
Coordinate all company marketing efforts by producing or overseeing the production of print, radio and online marketing materials including the Discerning Eye website (http://discerningeyeoptical.com).
